The Leominster Colonial Band

Our 29th Annual Christmas Concert

Sunday, December 9, 2018

Join us for a festive afternoon of music featuring our 30-piece concert band in a program of music including classics, pop and Broadway, as well as your favorite Christmas music! This year we'll be saluting the centennial of the birth of American music giant Leonard Bernstein, featuring his "Overture from Candide," the intensely beautiful "Make Our Garden Grow" and the rollicking "Slava." From the Broadway realm we'll be presenting a medley of music from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel" and we'll feature the music of the 1970's pop duo The Carpenters with a medley of their hits.

Holiday music will be in abundance as we feature a medley of music from the 1965 TV classic "A Charlie Brown Christmas." We'll be performing favorites such as "Ukrainian Bell Carol," and "Sleigh Ride" as well as "Silent Night," celebrating the 200th anniversary it's debut. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance during intermission, so bring the youngsters for an afternoon they'll remember all year long!

The concert begins at 2:00 o'clock at Leominster City Hall Auditorium and admission is free, thanks to our generous sponsors; The Leominster Cultural Council, the City of Leominster, and our patrons.

For those coming from out of town, Leominster City Hall is at 25 West St., right across from the Leominster Public Library. Click here for a map and directions.

Be there for the concert that Fox25 said was "not to be missed!"
